From October 14-16, the Lake Union will officially launch its Public Campus Ministry in conjunction with the Global Public Campus Ministry Weekend (#GPCMW16). It will be held at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor which holds prophetic significance for Seventh-day Adventist Public Campus Ministry. The event will be held for students in non-Adventist colleges and high schools and for mentors and churches who have a passion for public campus ministry.
The service will be streamed live through Hope TV and will feature choir and orchestra music, powerful testimonies of students studying at non-Adventist universities, and outreach on the university campus. The sermon will be delivered by Cassandra McNulty, a Child and Adolescent Health Center Program Consultant at the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
Cassandra was a student when a tragic event at a party led her through a series of spiritual encounters to seek out a deeper relationship with the Lord. That journey landed her at the University of Michigan and in the Seventh-day Adventist Church. As the only Adventist in her family, she chose to serve as a missionary to share her faith on public college campuses for a year before obtaining her MPH from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Cassandra is an active member of her local church community in Lansing, serving as her church’s Communications Director, sitting on the Michigan Conference’s Women’s Ministries Board, and speaking on the topic of sexual purity through the Adventist-led ministry, Uncompromised . Her powerful testimony of God’s leading in her life through public campus ministry will inspire every attendee to stronger faith in God and a more radical commitment to His service.
